Sea Days 8th and 10th October 2011

Our next stop was October 11^th but we only had 2 sea days….. yes we missed out on Sunday October 9^th 2011 due to the International Dateline.  (Although interestingly enough, we never actually passed over the 180 degree line).  The Kiribati islands that we are due to visit next are spread over both hemispheres and decided to take the time of the eastern Hemisphere (despite Fanning Island being in the Western Hemisphere).  We never went further west than 160 degrees but took the time GMT + 14 hours…..    So during our sea days we have gone from beings the latest point in the world, to the earliest point. (Explaining all this to Charlotte became part of the school lesson…..)
